Introducing WordyWednesdays with Mental Health at work. Here is a space to deconstruct, reimagine and introspect on certain terms and understand their true meaning. The word for today is “Self-care”.

According to WHO Selfcare is “the ability of individuals, families and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a health worker.”

We find ourselves aligning with this definition as it refers to a set of practices that promote wellbeing not only to be initiated by the individual, but with the stakeholders and institutions in the individual’s environment also holding certain responsibilities in promoting mental health and wellbeing.

What does self-care mean for you?
